Welcome to Hongik Taekwondo
I am Master Lee who is the owner of the “Hongik Taekwondo School” here in Ashburn & Leesburg, Virginia. Our Taekwondo school conveys a deep belief in the power of Taekwondo so that it can change children’s lives, inspire them to stand tall as the main characters in their lives, and move on to the path of a leader in everyday life. Learning martial arts since childhood has had a great influence on my life. It has always been my desire to establish a school that provides students with a supportive environment for physical training while also cultivating the passion and confidence that children will carry every day. It teaches children to develop their own strengths and form habits of success that they do not give up through concentration and immersion. Children who solve problems on their own will take on the role of leaders in any organization. This is because the habit of success that I made once when I was young lasts forever.

Hongik taekwondo is a great starting place, if you want your children to get into confidence building, self discipline, physical fitness. Hongik Taekwondo has been a life changing program for my son. Master Lee and Master Emma are so kind and a pleasure to see every time my son has a class. They care so much for their students. The classes have taught my son structure, form, confidence and speaking skills. It gives him good exercise also. I highly recommend Hongik Taekwondo of Ashburn for both kids and adults. My children, ages 6 and 10, started a few months ago, and their experience has been fantastic.
Master Lee and Master Emma are both exceptional instructors—highly skilled, dedicated, and truly invested in the students’ growth. They emphasize leadership, confidence-building, and discipline, all while training students for their Taekwondo belts.
The classes are an hour long, and my kids attend at least four times a week. They absolutely love it and always look forward to the next session. It has been amazing to watch their progress, not just in Taekwondo but in their overall confidence and discipline.

Adult program:
I recently joined their adult program, which is a combination of Taekwondo and Tai Chi. The training focuses on flexibility, gradually building core strength, and developing belt skills. As a software engineer working from home and spending long hours in front of a computer, I truly appreciate the physical activity. This class has been an incredible way to reconnect with my body and mind, improving both focus and overall well-being.
